Nelly Furtado will be hosting and performing at Sunday’s “Juno Awards” (think Grammys for Canada). The Canadian singer/songwriter attended a press conference at the Delta Hotel on Saturday in Saskatoon, Canada. Here’s what she had to say:

On planning for the Juno Awards: “I have to admit it’s been really stressful, but a good kind of stressful. I’ve put a lot of thought and energy into it, it’s really important to me to do my best and provide as much input as possible and try to make my impression on it (the show) somehow. We are busy, up to our necks in planning and preparations and I’m nervous. I’m finally nervous now.”

On hosting: “It’s very different from performing; I think my performance will be the most relaxing part of the evening for me. I’m serious about it being a fun night for everybody, that’s the only thing I’m serious about.

On handling all the requisite emcee banter and costume changes: “There are a lot of segments, a lot of wardrobe changes. It’s going to be a circus in my change room, anyway.”

On her hometown of Victoria, B.C. proclaiming March 21 “Nelly Furtado Day”: “It was a really real moment for me, and I was emotional and I was happy. I saw a lot of family, friends. You know, old friends from school that I hadn’t seen in years, relatives, family members, and teachers. It was really, really incredible. Having that honor at Centennial Square with the mayor there in Victoria was — it felt good. it really did feel good.”

Ferl’s 15 minutes of fame continues!

Sanjaya’s biggest fan, aka Ashley Ferl, is riding out her 15 minutes of fame for as long as she can. The 13-year-old posed for cameras in an exclusive photoshoot in New York City last week.

While in Los Angeles this week before, Ferl made it to a taping of American Idol and couldn’t hold back the tears during Sanjaya Malakar’s rock-out performance of The Kinks‘ “You Really Got Me.”

When Idol producers noticed the dramatic waterworks, they invited the young fan back to the results show, where she got got to meet all of the Idols.

“I got all their autographs,” she enthused. “I got earrings from Paula Abdul. They’re like hearts.”

Ashley’s favorite contestant from season 4? Fran Drescher double Mikalah Gordon.

I hope they invite Ferl back to the finale when Sanjaya performs!

Diddy wasn’t a happy bunny last night after a drunken man tried to ‘make a play’ for the mogul:

The 37-year-old rap guru left the exclusive Maddox Club launch party after just 10 minutes, when a chubby toff tried to, ahem, get to know him better.We watched as the horrified Diddy man spurned his advances - and ordered his minders to help him flee the building.

As the amorous reveller attempted to grind against the hip-hop mogul, ladies’ man Diddy yelled at his burly goons: “I’m ready to leave, right now!”Guest Henry Addo tells us: “The guy just went in for the kill, grabbing a vodka bottle off Diddy’s table and lunging towards him. He looked like he was puckering up as he tried to grind against him - and Diddy wasn’t amused. He couldn’t flee the club fast enough.”His admirer - in his late 30s - had earlier been going around the club kissing men on the cheek. But Diddy wasn’t risking that.

Diddy definitely wasn’t pleased when he heard Sienna Miller was a no-show and had snubbed his party:

He was really excited when he came in but his mood soon changed when he was taken to his table at around 1am and there was no sign of Sienna.  “He was asking people ‘Where is she? What do you mean she’s not here?’ before taking a seat and sulking.”

Hopefully Diddy will have a better time in Ireland where he and Snoop are in concert tonight

Isla called everyone to a toast and gushed, ‘We have got good news. I am pregnant.’ ”
