The Spice Girls have performed live for the first time since their reunion, taking to the catwalk at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Los Angeles.

The Spice Girls paved the way for their blockbuster comeback tour with a 1930s and 40s themed appearance at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

Sporty, Ginger, Posh, Scarey and Baby switched between khaki and military caps and full-length 1930s-style ball gowns to promote their latest CD, Spice Girls: Greatest Hits which is being sold exclusively at Victoria’s Secret lingerie chain.

During the event at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood the group performed their new single ‘Headlines’ and their 1998 hit ‘Stop’.

After the performance Geri Halliwell said that the show was “a good warm-up” for the Spice Girls’ world tour.

Speaking to ‘GMTV’ she said that the concerts would be “full of drama”.

Her fellow group member Emma Bunton said that they were having “the best time” since deciding to tour again.

The five took to the stage last night wearing military outfits for their performance of ‘Stop’ and emerged wearing ballgowns for their second song ‘Headlines’.

Other celebrities appearances at the Kodak Theatre, home of the Academy Awards, included supermodel Heidi Klum and her husband, the singer Seal, who perfomed a duet culminating in a prolonged kiss at the base of the catwalk.

The Black Eyed Peas’ William Adams, also known as will.i.am, started the show with the fitting rap hook: “Baby, where you get your body from?”

Adams was a last-minute stand-in for hip-hop star Kanye West whose mother died earlier in the week.

The first new video from the reunited Spice Girls, for “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends),” will make its online debut Friday – and here’s a photo preview of what’s to come.

The clip, which will air on the Today show’s Web site at 4 p.m. EST, is the first single from the group and their first release since splitting up in 2001.

“We are celebrating the past!” said Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell in June when the band announced their reunion tour, set to launch Dec. 7 in Los Angeles.

The new song, a collaboration with their original songwriters, is a declaration of friendship that “feels like taking a little bit of the past. You feel that flavor but then it’s moving on,” Halliwell told Britain’s GMTV last month. “The other girls chipped in later, adding lyrics. It’s magical.”

The upcoming tour, marking the Spice Girls’ first performances in nine years, “will be a proper good farewell to our fans,” said Melanie “Sporty” Chisholm.

Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham added, “We are going to celebrate the past, do a small tour and that will probably be it. Our priority is our families.” All of the Girls except Chisholm have become mothers since their ’90s heyday, when they sold 55 million records worldwide.
