Reese Witherspoon looks amused by all the paparazzi attention as she arrives at the swanky Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Monday night… with boy toy Jake Gyllenhaal safely tucked away in her purse.

Reese spent Sunday on the hunt for Easter eggs with kids Ava and Deacon. Ex-hubby-to-be Ryan Phillippe spent Easter weekend with BFF Breckin Meyer. And rumored lover Jake Gyllenhaal spent Easter Sunday showing off his chocolate bunny with family.

“I’m a very open person, but I don’t think there’s one sentence that can sum up an experience,” she continues “I think any life-changing experience sort of demands evaluation, really looking at yourself and your life. And it’s still a situation that’s not that far away.”

It’s a testament to the public’s sympathy for Reese that the tabloids have been (relatively) respectful. “I’ve had interesting experiences with the paparazzi recently when they’ve been apologetic about taking my picture,” she says. For now, though, she and her children will go to the grocery store only during weeks when Mommy and Daddy aren’t on the cover of the gossip rays.

Jake Gyllenhaal is all suited up in Morocco on the set of his new thriller Rendition, directed by Gavin Hood. He plays CIA analyst Douglas Freeman, who is forced to question his assignment as he becomes a party to the unorthodox interrogation of El-Ibrahim.

Rendition also co-stars Jake’s brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard as well as Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, and Alan Arkin. The release date for Rendition is set for Nov. 30.

In this “Look Great At Every Age” issue, Reese describes her past fashion blunders and also reveals she celebrated her 30th birthday with friends last spring “playing Boggle and eating fried chicken.”

If you’re Reese’s friend and have the same shoe size, you are one lucky gal: “I give away a lot of shoes. It’s really nice to be me. And it’s really nice to be my friend who has the same shoe size.”

It wasn’t just us. The newly single actress says her appearance at the Golden Globes in January was a chic coming-out for her. “I felt like I looked different than I’ve ever looked,” Witherspoon tells April’s Harper’s Bazaar, on stands March 27.

The Oscar-winning actress and mother of two has taken some fashion hits for dowdy choices. She credits Nina Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens for the fresh look that has evolved since she and husband Ryan Phillippe split in October. “I’ve used a stylist before, but these days I’m kind of just going with Olivier’s taste.”

Also contributing to her new sleek style: closet purging. “I recently put a big pile of clothes on the floor of my closet, and I looked at a lot of the stuff and thought, ‘That’s not me at all. What was I thinking?’ (For Legally Blonde) I went through a pink phase like you wouldn’t believe. Then there was a (Italian label) Marni phase when I was doing Sweet Home Alabama that was out of control.”

Reese Witherspoon hops back in her car on Thursday afternoon at Los Angeles Park, remaining mum about her rumored romance with Jake Gyllenhaal and her recent backing out of Bunny.

OK! Magazine is has the scoop on Reese spending “quality time” in NYC with boyish charmer Jake Gyllenhaal last week.

On March 1, Reese reportedly visited Jake’s Greenwich Village penthouse for 45 minutes. And on March 2, Jake stopped by The Mandarin Oriental hotel in Midtown Manhattan to visit Reese. And spent the night! Ohhhhh boy!

Reese, 30, recently bailed out on Bunny Lake Is Missing, a film project she was going to produce and star in.

The L.A. Times reports Reese did not feel emotionally invested in the role. TMZ reports that last week, Reese was supposed to be give a complete script but instead was presented with a script with major sections of the movie outlined but not written.

• Rosie O’Donnell says she began treatment for depression after the Columbine school shootings and also started inversion therapy- where she hangs upside down for up to 30 minutes a day- to improve her mental state. When gunmen killed 13 people at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999, Rosie said she felt as if it had happened to her children. “I couldn’t stop crying,” she said on an episode taped for The View and due to air Friday. Rosie demonstrates the inversion therapy on the show.
