Jennifer Lopez isn’t known for her wonderful movie career (Gigli, Jersey Girl), but her new film co-starring hubby Marc Anthony may just give her the jumpstart her movie career.

El Cantante is a dramatic biography of Puerto Rican salsa singer Hector Lavoe. The film follows the passionate relationship between Lavoe (Anthony) and Puchi (Lopez). Opens in limited release in Summer 2007.

Jennifer Lopez is working overtime, promoting her new Marc Anthony-produced album “Como Ama Una Mujer” (”How a Woman Loves”) on Good Morning America in New York City on Wednesday.

“For me, this album is such a special project,” Jennifer said. “I’ve always wanted to make a Spanish album. … This was a real opportunity for me to just express a different side of myself. Because I do all that dance stuff in English, this is a more intimate, romantic, vulnerable side.”

Jennifer Lopez rocks out the high waist as she introduces her film El Cantante with and hubby Marc Anthony at Paris Las Vegas on Wednesday evening during ShoWest.

The duo has been busy promoting their new movie El Cantante, which is a biopic that tells the life story of Hector Lavoe (he started the salsa movement in 1975 and brought it to the United States).

Marc steps into the role of Hector Lavoe while Jennifer plays Puchi, his muse and main squeeze.

ShoWest is the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
