March 14th, 2007 Fergie Maximizes Maxim

MAXIM Magazine unveils three HOT HOT HOT special edition covers for their April 2007 issue featuring cover girls Fergie, Rose McGowan, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as their covers!

All three actresses will be starring in Quentin Tarantino’s new sci-fi crime thriller Grindhouse, out April 6. Here are some of the best highlights of Fergie, Rose, and Mary’s interviews with Maxim:

  • Fergie on what attracted her to star in violent movie Grindhouse: “I tend to be attracted to dark, demented things. I love blood, guns, and knives. I like to play with my dark side.”
  • Fergie on celebrity drug use: “We all have our vices. Instead of crystal meth, I’m a Crystal Light junkie.”
  • Fergie on working with Quentin Tarantino: “In one scene Quentin got really into the character and bit me. I’m not going to sue him or anything. It was crazy cool.”
  • Rose McGowan on becoming an actor: “I had no intention of being an actor, but I got it. The caricature of the dumb actress is something I fight against. Acting involves stamina, but it does not use my brain.”
  • Rose McGowan on manscaping: “I don’t like cheesballs who are manscaped to a tee. I respond better to actors from earlier eras.”
  • Mary Elizabeth Winstead living in Los Angeles: “L.A. kids freak me out. When I was 18, I went out to clubs and did a lot of drinking for about a month. I got over it.”
  • Mary Elizabeth Winstead on having curves: “I like having curves. It’s weird seeing girls who look like beanpoles. The more famous girls get the smaller they get.”

This Maxim April 2007 issue hits newsstands on Friday, March 16.

March 14th, 2007 Reese Witherspoon :: Harper’s Bazaar

Reese Witherspoon is Harper’s Bazaar April 2007 cover girl as photographed by Peter Lindhberg. USA Today gives us a sneak peek of Reese’s interview with Harper’s Bazaar:

It wasn’t just us. The newly single actress says her appearance at the Golden Globes in January was a chic coming-out for her. “I felt like I looked different than I’ve ever looked,” Witherspoon tells April’s Harper’s Bazaar, on stands March 27.

The Oscar-winning actress and mother of two has taken some fashion hits for dowdy choices. She credits Nina Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens for the fresh look that has evolved since she and husband Ryan Phillippe split in October. “I’ve used a stylist before, but these days I’m kind of just going with Olivier’s taste.”

Also contributing to her new sleek style: closet purging. “I recently put a big pile of clothes on the floor of my closet, and I looked at a lot of the stuff and thought, ‘That’s not me at all. What was I thinking?’ (For Legally Blonde) I went through a pink phase like you wouldn’t believe. Then there was a (Italian label) Marni phase when I was doing Sweet Home Alabama that was out of control.”

March 14th, 2007 Sandra Bullock: I’m Not Pregnant!

Sandra Bullock arrives to the premiere of Premonition in a Grecian-style Lanvin gown on Monday at the ArcLight Hollywood Cinerama Dome in Hollywood.

Sandra, 42, is this week’s People cover story. Here are some great interview highlights about being a mother figure and having kids of her own:

  • On those baby bump rumors: [I’m] not pregnant!
  • On her three step-kids — Chandler, 12, and Jesse Jr., 9, Sunny, 3 — with motorcycle tycoon Jesse James: “I have children, amazing children. My love and my want for their future and their happiness, for their homework to be done and for them to know how smart and beautiful they are is no less than if I’d had a child on my own.
  • On being a proud parent: “I’m excited to show them off. I’m going, ‘Look at how smart he is! Look at what they did!’ and they’re like, ‘Ugh, stop!’ “
  • On being a step-mom: “I’m comfortable in my own skin. I have my family, and it’s the family that some higher power put in my path. I feel really lucky.”
  • On being prepared as a parent: “Everyone teases everyone. So you better have your game on or you’re in big trouble, because if you’re taken down by a 9-year-old, that’s a really humbling experience.”
  • On having kids of her own: “If that’s gonna happen, that’s exactly the way things are supposed to be, and it would be amazing. And if it didn’t happen, then I’d know that I was supposed to be right here.”

Motorcycle tycoon Jesse James, 37, adds that his children “totally love and adore” Sandra even though she impounds Pokemon cards as a punishment.

Premonition has garnered a pitiful total of 9% on RottenTomatoes and opens this Friday, March 17.

March 7th, 2007 Drew Barrymore is a Baby Doll

What’s pig-tailed Drew doing with this bear? Going back to “an innocent time” she says.

Drew Barrymore looks like an absolute doll — literally and figuratively — in this sneak peek of Glamour Magazine’s April 2007 issue, as photographed by Patrick Demarchelier.

Drew admits to Glamour that she’s not great at the whole “dating thing.” She says, “I don’t have that component in my brain and in my memory as data of how a relationship with a man is supposed to function.”

But Drew knows for sure that her dating life is going to be better in the coming years. “I know that my thirties are going to be better than the twenties as far as my handle on relationships,” Drew proudly proclaimed.

What were Drew’s fantasies for when she got older? Did she want to be married and have children? She says, “I always thought that there would be a husband and a big family in the picture. I thought that’s so desperately what I wanted because I didn’t have it growing up. And it’s funny because now I’m 32, I’m at a prime position and time to welcome that into my life, and ironically right now it’s not what I want.”

Drew Barrymore’s Glamour April 2007 issue hits newsstands March 13.

March 7th, 2007 Bosworth is the Boss

A lot of you disapproved of Kate Bosworth’s rail thin figure on the April 2007 cover of V Magazine as photographed by Mario Sorrenti in NYC, December 2006. But scope out the inside pictures of Kate is V Magazine — they’re simply stunning! This particular one is quite the eyegasm. Here’s a snippet from Kate’s article:

Kate Bosworth in V Magazine hits newsstands tomorrow, March 8. To read up on Kate’s feature in V Magazine, CLICK HERE!

Kate Bosworth :: V Magazine

Chances are, as you read this, Kate Bosworth is ordering takeout and roaming around her three-quarter acre Los Angeles property somewhere in the Canyon. Although it’s smack dab in the middle of Hollywood, she likes to think it’s more, as she puts it, “in the middle of Colorado.” (With the majority of Hollywood’s younger set stirring gossip fodder somewhere between their vehicles and the door of a nightclub, who can blame her for laying low?) When talking to the 24-year-old Massachusetts native, it becomes clear that it’s more than just her real estate that’s “in the middle” lately. Lanvin-loving fashion fan or Converse-kicking street kid? Box-office blockbuster actress or art-film ingénue? Scandal-loving Hollywood starlet or low-key homebody? As she herself admits, right now she’s not one of those stars committing to one set of adjectives.

It turns out, however, that Kate’s ability to work the whole spectrum has had its upside. Take her film career: her first role was as Scarlett Johansson’s best friend in 1998’s The Horse Whisperer, followed up by smaller films, including 2002’s Blue Crush, the star-making vehicle about a Hawaiian surfing threesome led by the blonde, bikinied Bosworth. Last year she ventured to blockbuster territory, taking the role of Lois Lane in the $200 million Superman remake. But, just as it looked like she was ready to sell her indie cred for marquee status, she wrapped another small film this year (“it was more a labor of love,” she says) with Sigourney Weaver, The Girl in the Park, by the writer of the Broadway play Proof.

Not that the strong-willed Bosworth hasn’t had her share of headlines: remember those “news” items about her extremely slender figure and dating Hollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom on and off for four years? Not shockingly, she now says she isn’t a fan of Hollywood hangouts and prefers the local pub to the red carpet. The ability to fit in anywhere—or, as we like to see it, work the middle so well—is a skill Bosworth presumably learned in school: she’s said in the past that she always felt like the “new girl” as her father had to move his family around the country for his job, and that she has “this pain in [her] heart from what it was like to walk in with your lunch tray and not have anywhere to sit.” Well, the good news now is that Bosworth can sit at all the tables. And there’s something powerful about being the new girl—you can be whoever you want to be.

March 7th, 2007 Kirsten Dunst Finds Key To Success

The girl that everybody loves to hate, Kirsten Dunst, is the cover girl for the April 2007 issue of W Magazine as photographed by Craig McDean. The 24-year-old moppet-haired former child star opens up about finally finding the key to success:

  • On her self-proclaimed best performance in the 1994 film Interview with a Vampire that costarred Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt and earned her a Golden Globe nomination: “I’ve never been so good! After 11, it all went downhill.”
  • On her disappointment of Marie Antoinette’s failure to connect with a wider audience: “I’m really disappointed in taste right now. I hope I don’t sound weird,” she explains. “I’m not bitter. I’m just a little, Well, that sucks because I really liked the movie. Whatevs. It’ll live on.”
  • On her personal life: “I don’t want to get into any of that because I don’t want to ruin my life. I’m done talking about anybody until I’m married. I’m a person who likes to hang out. I would never go on a blind date. That sounds like the most uncomfortable thing on the planet earth. It’s like, ‘Hi. Nice to meet you. So, what kind of music do you like?’ Date ended.”
  • On who Kirsten wants to end up with: “I need to eat a piece of pizza on a stoop in New York, and I cannot be with anybody fancy.”
  • On being a cheap-o: “Even though I was making tons of money and doing movies. I would still be excited to go with $20 to Contempo Casuals.”
  • On coming to terms with being a celebrity: “I’m okay with it. I love what I do, and I know that I’ve been given this gift. But there was a time when I wasn’t, of course. And if I didn’t struggle with it, I probably wouldn’t be a good actress at all. I used to feel like I had to be the best at what I did, but I realized I don’t have to be the best. It’s so freeing. I’ve never been this happy.”

Admittedly, this photo shoot is not so bad. Kirsten’s snaggleteeth are no where to be seen! Read Kirsten Dunst’s full W Magazine interview here.
