“Ugly” isn’t a word that describes Emmy-winning Grey’s Anatomy and Knocked Up star , but T.R. Knight’s BFF is about to go before the cameras for gay director Robert Luketic in a romantic comedy called The Ugly Truth.

The story centers on successful TV producer Heigl hiring one of those harsh, tell-it-like-it-is relationship advice professionals for her show.

His brash style conflicts with her views on the world, naturally, until she begins to find that his “ugly truth” style of dating tips really do help her find the guy she’s always wanted.

In other words, another film to confirm that straight people really are an odd bunch, made all the more subversive - one hopes - by having a gay director at the controls.

No word on a male lead yet, but a start date of April 15 is set, so audiences will probably see how ugly it all gets sometime in early 2009.

The 28-year-old believes Brit’s early fame and intense media scrutiny contributed to her downfall and said, “My heart breaks for her.” Perhaps Izzie can date a cardiologist this season!

While Heigl thinks Brit Brit is a “good girl,” she added, “I hope to God she finds her way.”

Katherine Heigl never knew getting knocked up could be so much fun.
“It was probably the best time of my life, and it’ll never ever get any better. I might as well just quit,” she told “Access” about her experience filming the latest movie from “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” mastermind, Judd Apatow.

“Oh, it’s amazing,” said Katherine, as she showed “Access” her engagement ring. “I’m so, so grateful he could be here. He’s been on tour forever and we haven’t spent more then I think five days together in over two months. So I was just happy that he had a night off and could come.”

Hey, after dating for only ‘3 months’ before getting engaged, you shouldn’t be surprised!

Grey’s Anatomy stars and engagement ring exhibitionists Kate Walsh and Katherine Heigl show off their blingin’ diamond rings at the premiere of parenthood comedy Knocked Up at the Mann’s Village Theater on Monday in Los Angeles.

Heigl on Walsh’s engagement: “She’s thrilled and I’m thrilled for her. She’s just one of the coolest chicks and deserves every joy and happiness. Can’t wait to see her ring!”

Heigl stars as an entertainment journalist who finds herself in the family way after a one-night stand with a goofball named Ben in the comedy Knocked Up, which opens next Friday, June 1.

Heigl said, “I am thrilled to work with [fragrance maker] Coty and Nautica on this new fragrance campaign. Partnering with these two highly successful companies makes this a very exciting and rewarding experience for me.”
