Superman Returns star Kate Bosworth is the new face for Calvin Klein Jeans Spring/Summer 2008.

Bosworth, 25, said, “To be featured in a Calvin Klein Jeans campaign, with its history of iconic imagery, is very exciting for me.”

David Sims photographed the 25-year-old fashionista in L.A. in simple separates - a metallic trench coat, a pair of white jeans.

“She is a true American beauty,” said Kevin Carrigan, creative director of Calvin Klein Jeans. “Her purity of style and sensuality are a perfect match for the natural, clean modernity of the Calvin Klein Jeans line.”

A good smattering of celebrity — Liv Tyler, Dax Shepard, Kate Bosworth and Helena Christensen — lunch together at Italian eatery Sant Ambroeus in NYC’s West Village on Tuesday afternoon.

Liv, 29, and Dax, 32, dined together at one table while right next door sat Helena, 38, and Kate, 24, sharing a table of their own.

Odd foursome? Maybe.

Dax and Liv co-star in the upcoming dramadey Smother. Dax plays the lead character Noah Cooper, whose wife, Clare, played by Liv, is obsessed with having a baby and whose mother won’t quit smothering him.

Supermodel turned photographer Helena Christensen shot the latest print campaign for Bono’s charity organization ONE, The Campaign to Make Poverty History, which featured none other than pal Kate Bosworth.

But a weekend stroll down the beach in Maui, Hawaii, shows that Kate’s body is looking a bit less angular.

And it suits her well.

A headband-rocking Kate Bosworth, 24, seems to have gained a few pounds as she dines alone at a French restaurant in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City on Friday afternoon.

Kate’s upcoming drama 21 co-stars Kevin Spacey and Laurence Fishburne and is based on the true story of MIT students who made millions of dollars by counting cards playing blackjack in Las Vegas. Out March 21, 2008.

Chances are, as you read this, Kate Bosworth is ordering takeout and roaming around her three-quarter acre Los Angeles property somewhere in the Canyon. Although it’s smack dab in the middle of Hollywood, she likes to think it’s more, as she puts it, “in the middle of Colorado.” (With the majority of Hollywood’s younger set stirring gossip fodder somewhere between their vehicles and the door of a nightclub, who can blame her for laying low?) When talking to the 24-year-old Massachusetts native, it becomes clear that it’s more than just her real estate that’s “in the middle” lately. Lanvin-loving fashion fan or Converse-kicking street kid? Box-office blockbuster actress or art-film ingénue? Scandal-loving Hollywood starlet or low-key homebody? As she herself admits, right now she’s not one of those stars committing to one set of adjectives.

It turns out, however, that Kate’s ability to work the whole spectrum has had its upside. Take her film career: her first role was as Scarlett Johansson’s best friend in 1998’s The Horse Whisperer, followed up by smaller films, including 2002’s Blue Crush, the star-making vehicle about a Hawaiian surfing threesome led by the blonde, bikinied Bosworth. Last year she ventured to blockbuster territory, taking the role of Lois Lane in the $200 million Superman remake. But, just as it looked like she was ready to sell her indie cred for marquee status, she wrapped another small film this year (“it was more a labor of love,” she says) with Sigourney Weaver, The Girl in the Park, by the writer of the Broadway play Proof.

Not that the strong-willed Bosworth hasn’t had her share of headlines: remember those “news” items about her extremely slender figure and dating Hollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom on and off for four years? Not shockingly, she now says she isn’t a fan of Hollywood hangouts and prefers the local pub to the red carpet. The ability to fit in anywhere—or, as we like to see it, work the middle so well—is a skill Bosworth presumably learned in school: she’s said in the past that she always felt like the “new girl” as her father had to move his family around the country for his job, and that she has “this pain in [her] heart from what it was like to walk in with your lunch tray and not have anywhere to sit.” Well, the good news now is that Bosworth can sit at all the tables. And there’s something powerful about being the new girl—you can be whoever you want to be.

Kate, 24, has a film coming out later this year called The Girl in the Park co-starring Keri Russell and Sigourney Weaver and directed by David Auburn. Here’s a brief synopsis:

Enduringly traumatized by the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter 15 years ago, Julia Sandburg (Weaver) has cut herself off from anyone once near and dear to her, including her husband Doug and her son Chris, who tried for years to penetrate her wall of isolation and despair, without success. But when Julia meets Louise (Bosworth), a troubled young woman with a checkered past, all Julia’s old psychic wounds painfully resurface, as does her illogical and increasingly irrational hope that Louise may be the daughter she lost so long ago.

Kate Bosworth’s new curvier figure is all thanks to her mother.

The ‘Superman Returns’ actress has been staying with her mum Patricia, who became worried for her daughter’s health after seeing how slim she was.

According to a friend of Kate’s, Patricia made Kate promise to put on 10 pounds in the next six months, and has been helping her plump her up by feeding her plenty of home-cooked meals.

The pal told Britain’s Look magazine: “She’s pulled back from the social circuit and has been spending lots of time with her mum. They hang out and shop and Kate’s mum cooks for her.

“Kate’s mum was appalled by her recent appearance. Kate tried to talk her way out of it, saying that the flu caused her to lose weight and that she had everything under control. But she knew she’d lost weight since her split from Orlando Bloom in May.

“That type of talk might work with friends, but the old saying - mum knows best - really is true.” [Source]
