Last night was the The Glamour Magazine 2007 Women of The Year Awards at Lincoln Center in New York City, and Jennifer Garner was named Glamour Magazine’s Woman of the Year.

Jennifer Garner was picked because the editors believed that she is a woman with a ‘successful career and happy family life while remaining stylish and elegant’.

Others who looked fabulous at the event were Jennifer Connelly, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Brooke Shields and many more.

The glamorous brunette was at the premiere of her latest film, The Kingdom at Mann’s Village Theater in Los Angeles, California on September 17th. The film also stars Jamie Foxx and Chris Cooper in lead roles and is about a team of agents headed for Saudi Arabia to locate a terrorist.

Jennifer is lucky. Few actresses are as versatile as her on the red carpet. High hemlines or low, hair down or pulled back, she can do it all gracefully. She can also perform her own stunts. Another skill she has is carrying off unusual designs by world-class couturiers.

Seen in this recent photograph, Jen makes a showstopping entrance for her film premiere in a sleeveless scarlet Valentino gown. What makes the dress so amazing is the superior cut: the fabric draped over the side and cascading to the floor, much like a traditional Indian sari delivered in a deep shade of red. Throw in the mehendi tattoos and some heavy gold jewelry, and she’d make the perfect bride!

As we all know, motherhood is well and good but in Tinseltown keeping your hotness intact is crucial to getting parts. Judging from her last couple of red carpet pix, Jen’s got nothing to fret about!

The Kingdom will release in theaters on September 28th nationwide.

Jennifer on her 21-month-old daughter Violet: “She’s pretty awesome. We’re in that sweet spot before the terrible twos. She sleeps till 7! Yeah, we lucked out. Supposedly [when] you have one that’s this easy and great, you’re screwed the next time around.”

Jennifer on the paparazzi: “[The paparazzi] just nips away at anything you’re doing, the small pleasures. I would give just about anything to make it go away, especially for my daughter. I feel like she has a right to her privacy, and it’s kind of encroached on.”

Jennifer on her two year and couting marriage to Ben Affleck: “I don’t know what makes it work. But it does. One thing that makes it work is that we’re both pretty nice. He’s not someone who’s ever going to blow up on anyone. What I mean is, if he’s ever angry with me, he doesn’t act out on it in a weird way or yell at me. And I am the same. So we handle conflict in a very loving and adult way.

Jennifer on having more children: “We definitely wonder what it would be like to have another — hopefully, knock on wood, someday. [raps table] My job is great to have as a mom. I get to take breaks and then work in a really concentrated way. During that concentrated time, it sucks, but whatever.”

Jennifer on her future as a talk show maven: “I feel like women, and especially mothers, are disenfranchised from our families; we don’t have the same support group around us that we did a generation ago. All my girlfriends and my sisters were having these same issues, and I felt like, ‘Why isn’t this being addressed?’ There are tons of talk shows, yet there’s nothing that’s specifically for them. But I’ve never gotten the balls to go out and do it.”

The mother-daughter duo hit up Kidnasium Children’s Gym in Santa Monica and then picked up fresh groceries at the Brentwood Country Mart, like they usually do.

Violet carried around a Max Daniel Rosebuds and Satin security blanket in hot pink ($20).

The mother-daughter duo spent over an hour playing on the slides and swinging on the swings before doing some laps around the fields.

Violet seemed especially playful as she sat in her mother’s lap in the grass. What a perfect day to be outside!

The Affleck-Garners recently came back from a trip to the East Coast. Hubby Ben Affleck recently gave a commencement speech to the Class of 2007 at Washington DC’s Falls Church High School.

Ben and Jen also dropped by Fenway Park to cheer on The Boston Red Sox.

Mommy show host-to-be Jennifer Garner spends Sunday morning out with her precious daugther Violet.

First, the mommy-daughter duo made their daily visit to the Farmers Market where they stayed for almost an hour, buying fruit and flowers.

Jen, 35, and Violet, 17 months, then went to the playground at Palisades Park, where they spent the rest of the morning riding down slides and playing on the swings.
