Lots Of celebs came at the Marc Jacobs Fashion Show, according to ElleUK It is always one of the most hotly anticipated shows of New York Fashion Week. It is always a fight to get in, and it always runs late…which it did, but the A-list crowd gathered for Marc Jacobs’ spring summer ‘08 show last night didn’t seem to mind too much. (Well, not as much as the Fashion Editors anyway!) Sitting patiently on the front row Mischa Barton, Victoria Beckham, Carmen Electra, Michelle Rodriguez, Padma Lakshmi, Elisha Cuthbert, Sheryl Crow, Courtney Love, Debbie Harry, Terry Richardson, Vincent Gallo and Helena Christensen waited for over an hour for the show, scheduled for 9pm, to start. When it did, Jacobs, who has only recently returned from a spell in rehab played out his collection in reverse, appearing first to take a bow, then sending out each look in reverse order. The show, filled with muted brights, floral prints and mid- calf hem lines, was a signature Jacobs fusion of uptown chic and downtown edge. Models were kookily styled with huge, messy, backcombed tresses upon which rested delicate, areoplane fascinators (that’s the official name for hairband hats by the way) tiny hats and oversize bows.
